Sew what?

One Jr. bridesmaid outfit, done!  So, one whole outfit done, one is like 97% done (I need more lace to finish), one groom's jacket done. Wanna see?  Leave me a comment, if you see something you like!

Mid-June 2012

Well, here it is. Spring is in the air.  End of school for the grandkids, and graduation for my daughter.  Yay! It is really nice to have my sweet daughter back, instead of the stressed-out crazy woman she was while trying to complete all her work.  She was actually done early. Go figure-she is like me that way-give her more to do, and the more she will get done.  She just doesn't recognize that yet.  Love you, daughter-so very proud of you!  This is a big deal!!

The next big thing-we have decided to merge our company with another company.  It is a good decision for us, as we will continue to be employed, while also keeping our name out there.  Our employees will be taken care of by the new company.  The larger company will take the stress off our shoulders, and leave us open to expand the business, and get creative.  It will make working together fun again, and we are very excited!

Wedding plans are coming along.  The girls will be working on the invitations very soon.  The gown is paid off, the wedding party outfits are coming along.  I sent email to the reception venue with some questions and comments.  The couple has been cake tasting, discussions held about rehearsal. Onward and upward we go!!

Leap Day

Today is Leap Day, Feb. 29. My niece's "6th" birthday.

February is almost over.  We have a vacation at the end of next month-hooooorrrraaaaayy! I have been waiting for this vacation for a long, long time. Oh, we have had week long trips here and there-maybe 9 or 10 days, even. But, this one is different. Really different. We will be gone 14 (count 'em!) fourteen days!

Oh, Hawaii, here we come! Sunshine! Warmth! Beaches! Mountains! Big Island, Kona, Hilo. Can't hardly wait.

I am a little nervous, though. I have to take my laptop and be able to work from there. That is kinda scary. We have a job starting up shortly-so we will have to trust our crews to work properly, trust that they won't do anything stupid, trust that they won't steal from us by turning in hours without doing the work, trust that if they have a question or problem they will get in touch with the right people. Trusting employees is NOT my strong suit. I believe most people are honest-however, if they think they can get away with something, they will.

I also have to make sure my work is all caught up before I go. It seems that I have to work so hard before I can relax, and then I have to work so hard when I come back from relaxing. And don't forget-I will have to work while I am gone, too.

One last thing. My daughter will be moving home. I know she didn't want to have to come back to Sequim, and maybe she won't have to stay for long, but I think it is wise of her to do so. After all, we have a wedding to plan!!  I am so excited for her and Les. I am so happy that they are happy, in love, and have their futures ahead of them.

So, that is February.  Come on March!!

Wasting time

So, here I sit today, and didn't accomplish hardly anything today.

I feel a little better than I did the other day when I posted. I started dieting again, and I am already down a little bit. That makes me happy. I have a lunch date with my bff tomorrow (yay!).

The sun is shining, I spent a little time outside today, and have a little more work to do out there today. I miss my Buddy-would have loved to take him for a walk today-it was that kind of weather here. I so don't want to walk alone...

Ok, back to work. No more wasting time. Have a Januly (July in January) day.

On the Eve of the day before the Eve of the Eve of the New Year 2012

Crap. That's it, crap. I feel like crap, I look like crap. I am stressed and worried and freaked out about so many things, that even the vacation my husband is "planning" (we will see how well he does that!) does not sound fun right now. I don't know what adrenalin overload is-I don't even think I have any adrenalin in my body any more.

I miss my dog sooo much. We put him down in August, and I can't seem to get over it. Today the butcher was here-one less cow to feed and talk to.

Miss my daughter, miss my husband. Sometimes I am so tired of my life. It is too difficult, even in comparison with how difficult it has always been.

I know a lot of my feelings are because I have been eating like crap, not getting enough fresh air and exercise, not to mention sunshine. I am really very logical and pragmatic inside my head, but, really? How long do I have to feel like this? I just want to get excited about something.

Work is piling up on my desk-purchase orders I need to fill, invoices to send, bills to pay, payroll to complete. When the hell will that company that owes our company EVER pay us? Aaargh.

Glad to know that not many people read my blogs.

Anyhow, I hereby resolve to eat better (throw out all the crap in the house), get the Wii hooked up, and start getting exercise and fresh air. Gotta start somewhere, right?

Quick!!

I know-it has been a while. I get caught up in stuff, and I don't feel it is necessary to spill my guts all the time.

Hmmm...work is really hopping. Two jobs going on right now, with another one looking good. Payroll, taxes, bills to pay, the usual. Data entry, ordering, all the stuff. Phone rang and rang today.
My mom called. I answered like this (caller id), "Hi Mommmy!!!" She laughed.

Talked to my daughter today. She sounded happy. I am going to see her on Friday-Yay!!

P-nut's horse, Didi, is having surgery today. She must be freaking out-and she has a soccer game today. Maybe it will help keep her mind off of the surgery. I am going to go watch.

That's all I have time for. Need to get ready to go. Ta-ta for now!!

Ring! Ring! Ring!

As of July 8, 2010, Gary and I have been married 22 years. Ok, so it isn't 25 or 30. But, I am impressed~and, it flew by!!

Anyway, when we picked our wedding rings out, way back in 1988, we were poor. Really, really, poor. Minimum wage/living at Mom's house, poor. We saved up a bit, had some debts paid off, and it was time to buy rings. Plain gold bands, second hand, "estate" jewelry. My ring was too small. The jeweler was kind enough to "stretch" it, but it really was a whole size too small. We bought it anyway...

Years go by. We have a baby girl (love you, honey!!) and she is gorgeous. Ecstatically happy. However, the too-small wedding ring is stuck on third finger, left hand. Baby is 3-enough weight is lost to get said ring off finger. No money to replace ring, so it goes back on the hand.

Again, years go by. Weight is put on, taken off. Again, ring comes off. Again, no money to replace ring. Ring goes back on hand. Never to come off again.

Now it is 22 years. Ring needs to be cut off. Seriously. Finger has permanent dent in it from said ring. Ring is pretty special to that finger, but it HAS to get cut off. It is, and is set aside to be repaired for future use by daughter...

Mad search on for new ring. Hate that finger being naked. NAKED finger!!! Months go by, no purchase is made~until September 3, 2010. The PERFECT ring is found. Oval faceted ruby, flanked by two diamonds, 1/3 CTW. Yellow gold band. Problem? Husband is on his way to Dodge City, and ring is in Seattle. Drama on the flights to Dodge, but the ring is snapped in a photo, sent to husband, approved and PURCHASED.

New owner of said ring is terrified to wear the ring until she is home...but it fits perfectly. Three days later, it is still on the third finger of my left hand, and comes off when it is necessary. Yay!!
